I Can Be a Little Skittish
Yes, I admit it. I can be a little jumpy, especially when it comes to loud noises. For example, I cannot open those Pillsbury dough things. The loud pop sets off my anxiety. Even the anticipation of it freaks me out. It's bad. Another example is when anyone pops a balloon. If I'm not expecting it, I may jump a mile into the air. You may think that I'm exaggerating a bit, but even the Hubbeast can attest to this.
Jump scares suck, too. I know, I know. They're meant to startle people. The sad thing is I can startle easier than most people. I remember one time when I was at work. I was working in drive-thru, taking care of customers. A customer pulls up, as per normal. What I didn't know was that the driver had his chihuahua up in the front with him. All of a sudden, that little ankle-biter barks, startling me so bad that I had palpitations. It really felt like I jumped a mile. I can laugh about this now, but at the time, it was a little scary.
Speaking about scary things, horror movies are supposed to be frightening, and there are many people that avoid them. I used to be one of them. Thanks to the Hubbeast, however, they don't scare me anymore. He and I watch so many of them that I have become sort of desensitized. It is so much so that anytime he puts one on, I'm just *yawns* bored. And to think that I used to get nightmares from them that I wouldn't have been able to sleep for days, and now look at me. Go figure.
I know I should have written this around Halloween, considering it has spooky elements. But in my defense, I think that Halloween should be all year round. Lol. I hope you enjoyed reading. Much love, dearies.
