October 31

...have a party to celebrate this occasion...

This is known by many names.

That is a link to a mixed drink, btw.

Anyway, October 31st is known to many as Halloween, but us witches, it's Samhain or the Witches' New Year. This night happens to be the night when the veil is the thinnest between the realms of the living and the dead. Halloween, in general, is celebrated by costumes and tricks and/or treats. For a magickal youngling, it has more meaning. It is a night to reflect on the year. Keep in mind, not all witches celebrate the same way. But if you know other witches, have a party to celebrate this occasion. Not everything has to be so serious.

While we are on the subject, I just did some more research on October 31st. Seems to me that there is some serious debate on how Samhain is pronounced, and what it's really about. I am still not sure what it all means. I am still learning myself. But if you click here, the link will take you to paganwiccan.about.com. That's a good place to start as far as what you can do to set up your altar and things of that nature. Speaking of which, I guess that's the next thing I will be writing about. Later y'all.
