One Gift to Rule Them All

The best gift anyone can receive is the gift of life. If it wasn't for the Hubbeast, I would not be writing this entry. Allow me to explain.

13 years ago, when I was still with my ex, I received a phone call that would lead up to me getting back with the Hubbeast many years after our fling in the summer of 2003. Up to that point, I was fighting severe depression and I was having suicidal thoughts. I didn't even have a support system, because my ex systematically isolated me from friends and family. And even though I had my kids, they were a non factor in the vow I had made to myself during that time. The vow that I had made was that if I was still stuck in that relationship at 35 years of age, I was going to end my life. Yes, that's pretty dark, but that was where my mind was at during that time.

Thankfully, I received a phone call that would change my life for the better. That phone call was from the Hubbeast, who came back from his "walkabout." He said that he had something to tell me and he had to tell me in person. So what did I do? I took a trip to see him. He was my chance to get out of the shit show. I am alive today because of him, and that is the best gift he could have given me. Though, to be fair, he does also spoil me on holidays with his gifts. Those are great too. Lol
