The Hubbeast has a Solemn Duty

The writer discusses the atypical nature of a tattooed, cursing, beer-drinking reverend, and the distressing news of a friend's hospitalization and potential brain tumor. The "hubbeast," upset by the news, may have to perform last rites. The writer empathizes with their partner and requests prayers

With a heavy heart, I write this to make sense of the mess that has cropped up. Just to clarify, I have mentioned the hubbeast before. Well, he is a reverend, but he is not typical.  When you think of a reverend, you think of the clean-cut goody-goodies that preach on Sunday and work in a church.  Well, the hubbeast is an exception.  He's scarred, marked, tattooed, curses like a sailor, smokes, and drinks beer on the regular.  Someone like him can be relatable when it comes to people who are not exactly the "churchgoing type."

Getting that out of the way, we received some news tonight that has the hubbeast upset, to put it mildly.  A friend of ours recently went into the hospital after a fall.  He has had issues for a while, but the news we recently received tonight has him in a tizzy.  The hubbeast received a call from the nurses at the hospital, saying that he is not in his right mind.  Our friend either thinks he's home, or he was moved to rehab.  Sadly, that is not the case.  He was moved to intensive care.  There is a chance that they may have found a tumor in his brain.  The hubbeast is concerned that he may have to perform last rites for our friend, not long after a baptism that happened maybe a month ago.

I feel for my baby love, since it looks, on the outside, like he is taking it really hard.  Right now, he's antsy and anxious, afraid of that phone call that would mean that I would have to drive him to the hospital.  But because of my abilities as an empath, I can feel his pain.  *sarcastic* Yay!

Anyway, keep our family in your prayers, whichever god you pray to. It's going to be rough and we can only hope our friend gets better, because he has only has us, as his family wants nothing to do with him.
