Things Are Looking Up

In the last post, I apologized for my actions to those I cared about and expressed that I was going to better myself.

In this post, it's all about the progress I have already made.

Two days ago, I dropped off applications for employment to a couple of places.  I went to Wendy's and Burger King.  But in handing in said applications, I did something different.  I actually printed up copies of my newly updated resume with them.

Now, that would send any employer a message.  I am hoping that it sent "I am serious about finding employment."

Well, wouldn't you know it, Wendy's actually asked me to come in for an interview as I handed it in, which happened at 10am yesterday morning.  It went really well, as Chris, the manager that interviewed me, told me he would call me later to try to schedule the second interview.  Yes, you are not seeing things.  I actually said that.

However, when it got time for me to receive that call, it didn't happen.  So you know what I did?  I looked up their phone number and called them.  I think that might have impressed Chris, because he told me to come in this morning at 10:30am to talk to Megan (I am not sure that is how she spells her name).

So now, it is almost 11:30am, and I can happily say this:  I HAVE A JOB!!!!  I have orientation at 5pm this Friday.  I am very excited, happy, and anxious, all at the same time.  I know.  I can hear you all saying that I should have done this sooner.

All in all, it is as the title implies.  Things really are looking up.  School is going great for me now, I am now employed, and my outlook is not as dismal.  Life is good.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some stuff to do around the house.  Chores won't do themselves, after all, though I am sure that you all wish that they did.
